Marine west coast: Mild with warm summer and no dry season. The coldest month averages between freezing and 18° C (64.4° F) and the hottest month averages between 10° C (50° F) and 22° C (71.6° F). Annual rainfall is frequent and steady year-round; it totals not less than 25 cm (10") and usually totals more than 50 cm (19"). Vegetation tends toward broadleaf deciduous forests, though various other plants may be mixed in (most commonly grasses or evergreen needleleaf trees); pure grasslands are rare, but in colder regions forests may give way to heather or other herbaceous plants.
