Mediterranean: mild with warm, dry summer. The coldest month averages between freezing and 18° C (64.4° F) and the hottest month averages between 10° C (50° F) and 22° C (71.6° F). Annual rainfall varies by season -- drier in summer, wetter in winter -- and totals not less than 25 cm (10") nor more than 200 cm (79"), though 50 cm (19") to 100 cm (39") is more typical. Vegetation is mostly broadleaf evergreen forest, though in some regions it may be grasses and herbaceous plants with such trees growing in patches or mixed forests of broadleaf evergreen and needleaf deciduous trees.
