Humid continental: warm summer and severe winter, humid with no dry season. The coldest month averages between freezing and –38° C (–36.4° F) and the hottest month averages between 10° C (50° F) and 22° C (71.6° F). Annual rainfall is frequent and steady year-round, and totals not less than 25 cm (10") nor more than 150 cm (59"), though 50 cm (19") to 100 cm (39") is typical. Vegetation is overwhelmingly broadleaf deciduous forest, needleleaf evergreen forest, or a mix; there may be grasslands or herbaceous plants with few trees along some edges of the climate region.
