Undifferentiated highlands: this region's high altitude and rugged terrain make it impossible to assign a generalized climate. Instead, small, highly variable microclimates are scattered throughout the area. Vegetation is likewise varied from region to region, ranging from entirely barren through scattered grasses to needleleaf evergreen forest.
