After I made admiring comments about an art-show pin-up, the artist very kindly graced my sketchbook with a similar drawing of the same character. I, of course, had to reciprocate. Cirrusi created by Sarah Silverman (a. k. a. Rummyhunny) and used with permission.

This was created for use on the staff badge issued to me for Further Confusion 2006, alongside a photo. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it didn't appear there.

Yes, I think Chester is sexy. He, of course, thinks chocolate is sexy—but then he thinks a lot of things are sexy. This gift for Terrie, sad to say, apparently disappeared, along with a bunch of more valuable art, in a burglary. Chester created by Terrie Smith and used with permission.

The theme of the sketchbook was Skunks, Skunks, Skunks. Since virtually every piece was a pin-up, male or female, the urge to do something different was irresistable. Drawn for Brian Harps sketchbook. Carrie Prim created by Waverly Pierre III and used with permission; children co-created with Waverly Pierre III.

Caroline was a private joke shared with my girlfriend of the time, who had adopted a snow-leopard persona. What would happen if you crossed a snow leopard with a Bombay tomcat? Youd get a negative snow leopard, of course—a black cat with white rosettes!

This was a response to Zjonnis comment that many artists in the furry community at the time seemed interested only in drawing their own characters and not in trading depictions of other peoples characters. Katya Kostchyevkova created by Zjonni and used with permission.

Yes, the kids are too cute—and exhibit what a friend calls Disney genetics: everyone has one giant chromosome and everything is sex-linked, so boys look like Dad and girls look like Mom. They are, of course, doing typical kid things at the picnic—grooming, talking to Daddy, or teasing a sibling. Drawn in Waverly Pierres sketchpad. Carrie Prim created by Waverly Pierre III and used with permission; children co-created with Waverly Pierre III.

The mediocre sound quality of a low-budget television advertisement for a local Honda automobile dealer inspired this very bad pun.

This snug little floor plan is an exercise in minimalism, balancing size and expense against lifestyle requirements. The furnished version is designed with built-in furniture.

Berries? was done as a doodle at work. Icara thinks berries of all kinds are goodness. Thank You, Alpha Mummie! was the first piece drawn in a sketchbook given as a Christmas gift, expressing appreciation to the giver, Maggie Hogarth. It refers to her nickname of Alpha Mother to the group of friends known as the Tampa Pack. At the time, Icara was suffering from the muse flu—hence the vitamin C tablet hidden in the strawberries.

Maggie Hogarth described the amusing idea of muses at a party discussing their creators, including thumbnail descriptions of what she thought various friends muses would look like. When asked what she thought mine looked like, she replied with a detailed paragraph-long description of Icara. It was love at first sight.
